Verry cool bud! I'm not so sure about the hat, but that looks like a blast for sure! What do they do with the meet down there? Is it like it was in Africa? Do they sell it etc? Are you bringing home one of those burro heads?! That would be a sweet trophy,

    Glass Bedding My Rifle

I dont know if he does bedding work, but I would be willing to bet he does. He installed and tuned a Timney in my .257 wby for literally HALF of what all other gunsmiths wanted... He is known as the Gun Dr. and is located here in Casa Grande. http://www.dexknows.com/business_profiles/the_gun_doctor-b735729

  7. I noticed the giant price spike as well. Wondered why it nearly doubled
  8. That's about what you'll get guaranteed from most lrf's, they say its a xxxx distance based on reflective objects.
  9. My bino carrier is getting some time on it, and I am sure will need replaced in the next year or two... I might very well order this soon for the binos. I usually wear cargo pants with hunting and keep my range finder in the over sized pocket, or the pocket near my knee. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Optics/Optics-Accessories/Optics-Harnesses%7C/pc/104792580/c/104752080/sc/104466780/i/104013180/Badlands-Binoculars-Case/720929.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fshooting-optics-optics-accessories-optics-harnesses%2F_%2FN-1100261&WTz_l=SEO%3Bcat104013180

    WTS Rem 788 22-250

I have a used Remington 788 in 22-250 up for sale. The gun is used, the metal is in good condition but the stock will need refinished. I have stripped the finish off of it, it is not down to bare wood but the finish is knocked off and sanded to a 400 grit finish. One magazine, I believe 3 boxes of shells. $400

    Cleaned out the storage

Just have some stuff that I would like to move. Not looking to get rich, just maybe a few bucks for fuel! There is a Cass Creek portable speaker. Plug it into an iPod or what have you and it will pay what ever you wish. Took it out of the box, messed with it but never took it to the field. Velbon head, used, went back to Jim White for a service/rebuild a few years ago. Its not perfect but it works. Browing folding knife, dont think I ever cut anything with it, yellow sharpener as well. CRKT Denali folder. Carried this one for a few weeks years ago. Good knife. Good weight, and the blade locks. 1 Roll of stick to itself digital camo tape. Works really well for predator guns, both shotguns and rifles. New in the bag. Brand new case for a Black Berry. 1 Butler Creek objective cover. Not sure of size, probably fits a x44 Zeiss? Its too big for my 3.5-15x40 Leupold. Mess o'broadheads. There are a couple muzzy 100 grainers, some Tekan mechanicals, 1 Shuttle T and 1 small game head. New in the box Knight and Hale predator call. $40 for everything and its yours. I am in Casa Grande, probably be in Tucson tomorrow. I can drop it off in Tucson with either my fiance or my parents who live near Sportsmans Warehouse. If there is something you have to have, message me and maybe we can work something out for separating it out, although I prefer not to. I'll ship, buyers expense.

    Leftover tag, hunt options?

That sucks you missed the draw, there goes your loyalty point! If you camp near major routes, basically anywhere right off of Ruby road, 286/Sasabe highway, near Arivaca, or Pena Blanca lake, there will be plenty of people abound to keep illegals out, not to mention BP drives past those spots very often.

    Barnes Bullets

To a point, I would agree. TTSX do need to be driven fairly hard to expand to their maximum but at the same time, because they penetrate and retain their weight so much better, one can step down a weight and get the same performance as the heavies. ie use a 130 instead of a 140 through the .277 cailber, so thus extending your range. I think a lot of emphasis is put on the small exits offered up buy the Barnes bullets. In my experience and opnion on this, it is because the bullets to not open a huge amount. They open to an 'X', absolutely hammer the game they hit and then exit. Leaving a small entrance and exit, but causing massive damage and, more often than not, leaving the animal dead on the spot. When I was in Africa, I shot 10 animals. Nine of these animals were shot with a .300 wsm and 168 TTSX, one was shot with my .257 wby and 100 TTSX. Of these animals, only 4 took another step. An impala was double lunged and made it about 40 yards, a mountain reedbok was shot through the heart, with a 1 inch exit and made it about 50 yards, a black wildebeest was double lung hit and made it 100 yards, and a red hartbeest made it about 20 yards before laying down and getting another bullet put into him (the first shot was a gut shot at 340 yards). All other animals have died on the spot.

    Barnes Bullets

Try seating them shorter, and also make sure you scrub your barely down as far as you can. I dont know what it is about Barnes bullets, but they DO NOT like being shot after there is other fouling in the barrel. I have tested this many times over and 10/10 times, they shoot better when starting from a clean barrel.

The deer I killed that rolled down the canyon at 525 thought they worked fine

    Barnes Bullets

Bonus question... If anyone can tell me what bullet killed this deer (besides you Gabe, its your buck!) than you get a cookie! This bullet hit no bone, did not leave a huge exit wound (its the blood spot you see in the deer in picture number one), and, as you can imagine, no tracking job was needed!
