GAME AND FISH NEWS Feb. 26, 2021 2021 elk, pronghorn hunt draw in progress PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) reminds hunters that the processing of draw applications for 2021 elk and pronghorn hunt permit-tags is underway. The deadline to submit applications was Feb. 9. AZGFD continues to validate a record 170,000 applications, an increase of almost 18,000 over last year. As a reminder, a customer’s receipt is verification that their application was received by the department. There is no need to contact the department if a customer cannot view data (such as submitted applications, bonus points, license purchases) in their personal portal account at this time. AZGFD expects to resolve this inconvenience once the draw has been completed and hunt permit-tags are issued. In the meantime, the department appreciates the continued support and patience of its valued customers. There also is no need to contact the department about draw results. AZGFD will post an announcement on its website and social media channels when draw results are available. All hunt permit-tags will be mailed by April 2. Did you know? 210,000 applications, that would be about an 80,000 uptick in elk and antelope apps from last year with those odds you don't have to worry about getting drawn anyways.

Wildlife belongs to the people doesn't mean you can go take a deer or elk whenever you feel like it there are rules and regulations for a reason. Same with our national forests. I believe the purpose of this post is the main reason gates are locked during certain seasons.

Its funny you're so concerned about the potential abuse of the crossbow permit when you openly admit to working the system to get tags for your daughter when she was a jr. If your daughter wanted to hunt archery elk with the big kids then put in and draw the tags fair and square like everyone else instead of daddy getting the tag and then transferring it to her seems a little hypercritical to me.

Actually baiting isn't illegal unless you live in a county that has a ban on feeding wildlife. If you want to go pour a 100 lbs of corn on the ground and feed wildlife it is perfectly legal just don't attempt to take big game off your bait pile. The rules on cameras will be very similar.
