DanielT Report post Posted August 31 A buddy asked me to zero an old Remington 660 marked 222 REM that he picked up and had not yet shot. I took it out and found that 222 seemed too short for the chamber, it would not fire, and the bolt would not pull it from the chamber. I assumed it may have been rechambered to 223 as they often were, so I tried putting a 223 round in it and the bolt closed and pulled the cartridge back out as it should. There are no markings to indicate it is now a 223, so I’d like to run go no go gauges through it before I attempt to fire a 223 round through it. Is there anyone in the Mesa area that has a set I could run through the rifle real quick? I figured I’d ask before buying a set for a rifle that is not mine. Thank you. MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted August 31 I can have a set in PHX Friday or I can also take a mold of the chamber to be sure if needed. Im sure theres a few shops out your way that would check for nothing. Axis in Tempe might if you call them.
HuntHarder Report post Posted August 31 Just buy a go gauge and use clear tape on back for no go.
