Osc623 Report post Posted Friday at 01:57 AM Anyone on here ever hunt 13a for antelope? Or 13a in general? I got drawn for an early archery pronghorn tag and was wondering about conditions of the area. I understand it’s far from local stores and gas stations, but was wondering on anyone’s personal experiences. I intend to get out and scout this here in the next couple months but was just curious. Thanks!
Couzer Report post Posted Friday at 02:49 AM Thats in no man's land. I have a friend that has had the general hunt a few times. Bring all the supplies you can. Also he ran into a ton, and I mean a ton of rattlers. Said he had a fun time chasing them around. Good luck and report back.
NOTAGS Report post Posted Friday at 02:51 AM Yep. 2001. And I have a gun tag this year. Big arse country, goats are spread out. Fredonia or Colorado City are the closest towns, and Fredonia is gonna have a lot more to offer which isn’t saying much. Kanab for anything major . It was dry AF in 2001, I had dust in my truck till the day I sold it. Trees are rare , so bring your own shade. It will be hot…. 2001 cell service didn t exist, not sure now 25 years later. Make sure your rig is in top shape, cause I went three days without seeing anyone else… not much traffic up there. Break down, it may be a while. Maybe a rancher coming thru. not trying to discourage you, just make sure you’re prepared…. Heck, for all I know in 25 years there’s housing on the north side. I’ll find out myself this summer.
PRDATR Report post Posted Friday at 10:47 PM How many points did you have? I have 26 and was looking at that hunt but didn't put in for it because it is such a long drive and felt I needed to scout it 4-5 times to get comfortable with the area. Good Luck. Nice thing is it sounds like you won't have much competition or a plethora of weekend warriors.

maximus Report post Posted 21 hours ago that is the only unit in the state that i will get an outfitter, for as how many times you go scouting, between gas, time, car wear and tear at the end is probably good to hire somebody, i never hired a guide in 35 years but the strip is the only units i will.
