A bloody mess

Recommended Posts

Pretty cool how bloody their horns look when they start rubbing off the velvet. I have to say, that trail looks a ton like this one in the Juniper Mesa Wilderness.

I saw five good bulls Sat morning, the two smallest ones were rubbed off (only scrap hanging) and the three large bulls were still perfectly velveted.

FWIW

They are definately starting to rub the velvet off. Just starting to see a few bulls that pass through my yard near Vernon with velvet hanging. Man I'm gonna miss living there.

We were in New Mexico scouting last weekend and out of the six groups of bulls we found, the two biggest bulls were rubbing off. All the rest from spikes up to 6x6 were still in full velvet. We did find a few of this years rubs, so we know it has started.
