Salsa Recipe

Okay this is hot if you get hot GREEN CHILIES

 

15 HOT roasted green chilies

6 Tomatoes

2 Cloves of Garlic

1/4 Of an onion

1/4 to 1/2 cup of Chopped celantro

2 to 3 Tbs of sugar

1 tsp of fresh ground cinnamon

LOTS of pepper ( I love LOTS )

Salt to taste

 

Just put in a blender and blend. Make sure you have LOTS of milk. ;)

I've added a bit sugar to my recipe (which is similar to yours...) in the past, and it adds a nice flavor! Never tried cinnamon though.... Might have to do that!

 

Interesting that you use Green Chiles, as opposed to the standard jalepenos that most use! I've not done that before. I have a hard time finding green chiles that are hot enough for me. Even when they are labeled as 'hot', they never quite give me the kick that I'm looking for (like jalepenos do). I'm constantly looking for HOT ones for cooking with pork/beef (Green Chile), but often get frustrated with the supply. Can't wait until September!!! I'll be looking for some nice HOT Hatch chiles!

 

Also, whether using Anaheims or Jalepenos, I agree that the MUST be roasted!!!! Roasted chiles/peppers are MUCH better IMO!!
