A LITTLE LATE BUT 2009 WAS A GREAT YEAR

Recommended Posts

Well 2009 turned out to be a good hunting year for our crew. You don't realize just how good until you sit around and reminesce and enjoy a few beverages with your hunting buddies about what transpired over the last few months. We battled just about every possible weather conditions Mother Nature saw fit to throw our way. We had emotional highs and lows, but through it all our hunters and us were able to perservere and make it a banner year. Enjoy some of our success pics.

Our first elk hunt of the year was a jr. cow hunt. The young hunter,Konner, was able to harvest his first elk on the third evening of his hunt. Nothing beats seeing the smile of success on our youth hunter's faces.

Next up was the early Coues hunts. We were fortunate enough to fill four tags. One hunter took his first ever Coues, another his biggest, another his third, and I...well...was able to harvest my smallest. All in all nothing but good times !!

Doug was able to fill his first Coues tag on the second to the last day of the hunt.

Keaton was able to take his third Coues in four years. This 75" buck isn't even his biggest of the three. He's turning into quite the good hunter.

Chris was fortunate enough to take his biggest Coues to date. This buck scores 105" and change. You couldn't ask for a better buck, especially during a warm Oct. hunt. Great buck with lots of character.

Chris kept it going the following month on his late Nov. archery bull hunt. After too many hours to remember on stand, he was able to connect. This beautiful bull made the fatal mistake of crossing paths with an excellent archer and his arrow. Late or early archery, this is a bull to be proud of.

Next up was a late season Nov. rifle bull hunt. The hunter, Dave, was successful in taking his best bull yet. He was able to make it happen after going through what seemed to be a weeks worth of a roller coaster of emotions on the second day of his hunt.

Next was the Dec. rifle bull hunts. Normally these would be viewed as only "meat hunts", but three hunters were able to take great trophy bulls.

First up was Dalton. This young hunter killed his second bull in as many years. This was the largest head/body we had ever seen on a bull before. This 300" bull is a great trophy for a late Dec. hunt for any hunter.

Second we have Nicole. This was her first elk hunt ever. She battled through four cold, wet, rainy and snowy days to make it happen on this trophy bull. Not many of us can say we have had the chance to take a 360 class bull let alone actually harvest one in December !!

Last we have Mickey. He had an even worse weather day the day he took this good bull.

Only good things happen when you don't give up.

As you can see 2009 was extremely good to us. It's the type of year you think that you can probably never top or duplicate for that matter. Or can you ???????

Well low and behold 2010 has started out even better than we finished 2009, but you'll have to check back later in the "Bowhunting" forum for more details !!!!! Stay tuned for more........
