Looking for my first real turkey call. suggestions?

What you have pictured is half moon box call. I think a one piece or a glued box sounds a lot better. The art work looks nice but I don't really like the sound of a half moon.

Thats just a picture of the type of call I'm looking for. I saw one in action, and liked the ease of use. Any suggestions Little Creek? I will be using it in the fall and spring.

Joe slaton from mother load game calls makes a nice one piece Neal cost style checked box at good price. If you are wanting the best try Albert Paul and marlin watkins but you will pay a lot more for them. Hope this helps.

I also like the box cutter but you never know what the turkeys will like. Hunted last weekend and didn't have much luck with the trusty box cutter, soon as the slate came out was a diff story. I was thinking maybe hunting so late in the season they turkey in the area have heard every box call made since they seem to be the easiest to use. Any thoughts? Don't mean to high jack the thread just something I noticed this year for the first time and normally don't hunt this late in the season.
