Sneaker Report post Posted April 10, 2014 I think it is just because there is such a long time until they could even be used. You have to have your tag number to buy a permit, they may open it back up again soon since the elk and antelope hunters will be asking them, but doesn't do any good until August anyway. I originally thought I drew the early bull tag which meant I was going to leave my camp up for lope hunt all the way through the bull hunt, so I guess it will depend on my scouting.
