22-250 bullets

Recommended Posts

I've been using 60 grain nosler partitions in my 22-250 on javelina with good success.

I recently tried some of the new 55 grain ballistic tip varmint Trophy Series cartridges from Nosler.

These seemed to really do well in my rifle. Excellent grouping etc. I understand these

are a thinner walled bullet (being a varmint bullet). Could I expect them to not penetrate as

deeply as the partitions? I'm just curious, mostly I shoot partitions in everything, not much

experience with BT's. Like I said just wondering.

I think it's been over 15 years since I read cursive, but to answer your question yes it shouldn't penetrate as it is design Tomore so explode on impact. But I have read stories and seen pictures that some bullets didn't penetrate so well on javalina. But I wouldn't hesitate to use him on those pigs.

I think pigs are small enough that you should expect good results as long as you don't center punch the shoulder blade. May not get an exit wound through since the bullet is designed to explode on impact
