Or is this a better option?

Hello, I have a 300 win mag barreled action. It has a savage action, shilen barrel with muzzle brake that is removable and one piece base and ring's. It will also come with the magazine for a blind mag stock, trigger guard and action screw's. When I bought this I was told between 20 and 30 round's fired and I have not shot it. I was looking for $650 plus shipping.

Benchmark quoted me $750 for a 28" Sendero contour, fluted barrel. No muzzle break.

This has the brake but no fluting so I guess that's an even trade $$ wise.

you possibly could still find some Savage 111 LRH in .300 win mag for mid 800's new ( maybe even lower shipped to an FFL ) ....

I can get one shipped for $750 but I'm just wondering if these are a better option for a few $100 more?

With a benchmark barrel it's worth the extra $$$. Not to mention the 20 MOA rail, accustock, etc.

What DB said! Barrel, cheek pc, break, rail add up pretty quick.

The 111 LRH has all that including a muzzle break, but not A Benchmark Barrel .... IMO (not saying the barrel is not Benchmark) the Break does not look Benchmark's newer break work I have seen ... Could be wrong just my observation

As long as there isn't anything wrong with it, yes it's definately worth $1000. Why is he selling it?

When I buy used guns I always prefer to buy a gun local and with the load development already done. That doesn't mean this isn't a good deal!

I was kinda sketchy about this deal myself. He claims that he ordered this gun with the intention of having a 28" barrel installed and have the gun "accurized" by a savage guru. A guy named Scott at savagegunsmith.com. He was told that it would take a year. While the gun was being worked on he ended up buying a different long range set-up. Here's where it gets sketchy....I asked him for paperwork from the smith...work orders, receipts, invoice...something. And he claims he can't find anything.
