What happened to Long Lake?

Lol at how many people think its from "the drought"

I don't know if I would laugh at them but I would agree there are far more factors involved than drought.

Population and groundwater pumping increases come to mind but I'm no expert, what are you referring to, Joe?

I agree that increased water usage by the communities surrounding Upper and Lower Lake Mary, Marshall, Mormon and Stoneman Lakes have had a huge detrimental effect on current water levels...But I also believe that the decades-long decline in yearly rain totals is by far the greater reason why Russell tank, Long Lake and many other bodies of water scattered throughout Arizona continue to dry up year after year..........
