Best tripod for the Hog Saddle

Recommended Posts

Looking for a good heavy duty tripod for use with the hog saddle. Anyone shooting with this rest or something similar I would love to hear some feedback. Thanks.

If you haven't bought the saddle yet, we have our second generation Hybrid bolt action tripod mount being released for sale this coming week. Only 3oz and you don't have to clamp it to your gun or carry it in your pack.

You can use just about any quality tripod for mounting your rifle. Whatever your using for your optics should work. David

I have been running a carbon and an aluminum manfrotto with good results. I also prefer the ball head as it is easier/faster to adjust. let me know if you have any questions.

No it will not. I designed the Gen 2 Rifle Railz so the customer only needs to purchase one product now. Plus it is lighter and has a thinner profile when mounted without the LOC JAW. I added the Tac-Wings to provide a platform for the tripod plate and a multi point tripod attachment locations. I made these changes based on feedback from prior customers. David

So what do you get for $99? Rail and mount?

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but I will do my best to answer it. The 2nd generation Rifle Railz is now a replacement for both the 1st generation Rifle Railz / Loc Jaw combo. So instead of spending $180 for both products in the past, you now only purchase the 2nd generation Rilfe Railz for $99 to accomplish the same thing, but better. David
