Oregon Mule Deer. " Buck Norris "

Sure would think that someone has some sheds of his. The video of him dozing off is pretty cool. Gotta be in the 280 range.

    12A East Hunt Success

It was a pleasure meeting Logan and his family. They are what family and hunting are at its finest. Their enthusiasm and respect for their harvest was refreshing. They are welcome at my home anytime. I love the " Rageinthesage " name for this great Buck. I have seen and been involved in many Kaibab deer harvested through the years and the pics of this Buck don't do him justice. Great mass, over 5" bases and mass all the way up. Very Symetrical. Logan, next time Dad says " he's a shooter " don't hesitate. Congrats again, and have a Merry Christmas !!

    first time mule deer hunt

If you want to stay close to Phx, check out the White Tanks. It is rough going, but some big old deer. Also I have had luck in the past around Skull Valley and Kirkland Junction. Just get out there and spend some time in the field. Finding sheds can be a help.
  11. I was recently at Sportsmans Warehouse and struck up a conversation with a fellow sportsman. I mentioned that this is a great hunting site and very informative. Many years ago I had the pleasure of meeting one of the best hunters in Az and a past B&C scorer, Robin Bechtel. When we began talking about Coues deer he informed me that the correct pronunciation was " cows ", after Dr. Elliot Coues who first came accross them. I looked this up and he was indeed correct. Since then I always refer to them as such, " cows deer " , spelled " Coues ". Anyway, when I pronounced them as cows deer to the guy at sportsmans warehouse he sort of became irate with me and informed me that they are "Coose " deer. If in the future I speak with any members in person, I apologize now, if my pronunciation of " cows " is incorrect.

    French squirrel kicker

Anyone see the story of the French tourist that baited a squirrel at the Grand Canyon and then kicked it over the edge? I would have liked to seen that so I could do the same to him! Hope they find that rat b#@tard.

Grand Canyon National Park. All critters are protected, even sheds cannot be taken. Not a spider or mouse in your kitchen. I guess that following the law doesnt apply to us all. If you draw a unit 9 Bull tag is it OK to shoot a Bull in the park ? Killing for fun is really not funny to me, sorry to all those who think its comical.
