couesdeerhntr Report post Posted July 16 Is the rubber boots a must for scent control? Seems to be mixed reviews but have always been on the page they prevent scent walking into stand? Got me a pair but half of the boot is not rubber. Would that be an issue? Or am i over thinking this and just keep scent down like always and play the wind? Just thinking about me getting into and out of the property i will be hunting in kansas. First kansas hunt.

Curtis Reed Report post Posted July 16 deer gonna smell you regardless. scent control products are a waste of money. mind the wind.
NOTAGS Report post Posted July 16 Rubber boots will help. Don’t need anything expensive .I like Muck though, as they’re warm, waterproof, and scent proof.
bojangles Report post Posted July 23 Play the wind. Rubber boots may help keep you from leaving a scent trail. Tuck you pants into your boots, stove pipe style for walking around to keep from making a trail. But they won’t cover for a bad wind. Nothing does.
Markleo21377 Report post Posted July 26 I have archery hunted Kansas for 15 years and Midwest most my life. I will tell you most definitely rubber boots are excellent for controlling scent on your way in and out. Of course choosing your route and stand location based on the wind is key to success but having the ability to tuck your pants into a boot just under the knee and spraying a scent killer on them once you have put them on is huge! Plus they help with ticks depending on time of year and the vegetation always has heavy dew in the morning and rubber boots keep you dry and warm. Good luck 👊
