Need a bit of help!

Recommended Posts

Need a bit of direction, I have a young man related to one of my best friends that I would love to get down here for a youth hunt. He’s 11 and need to know if there’s a way to get him through hunters ed before the youth javelina hunts. Don’t want to promise him fun before I know what I need to do.

If he is a resident he can do his hunter safety all online and no field day required. If non resident he will have to find a field day to come down to. Or he completes a hunter safety course in the state he is in if possible.

Check with Ia Born he's a hunter safety  instructor  and posts class availability  . He's  in Flagstaff  but might  be able  to steer you to your answer  depending on your location.

Doesn’t Hunter Ed from another state qualify? Might be easier for him to do at home if so.

Yes, it does.  He just needs to carry proof with him at all times (local state's HE card).  IHEA has established reciprocity across most, if not all states, for recognizing Hunter Ed completion.

100% correct.  The field day is now incorporated into the online class.  There are two options for taking the fully-online Hunter Ed Class.  We are also offering a classroom class in Flagstaff Nov 20-23.

I’ve had two of my kids do the fully online course since it has become available and it is a great option. If they really dedicate themselves they can do it all in a few days.
