You’d be very happy with the Sako or tikka. The new ultralight comes threaded as well which is so nice if you shoot suppressed.

Yeah I was thinking about the new tikka ultralight. Was hoping to get one used before buying new 😂

Yeah, the gen2 are probably too new to find used. If I was looking for a new rifle, that’s what I would be buying.

I bought this exact deal when it was $599 a couple months ago.  Had it cut to 20".  I never tried any factory ammo but it's ridiculously accurate with a handload that took almost no effort to develop.   Still a great deal at $649

I did the same but cut it to 18".  The barrel is super slow and not much faster than a creedmoor but it is stupid accurate for a pencil barreled factory rifle.

What speed did you get from the factory loads? And what are you planning to get with your handloads? My tikka’s have always been 100fps slower than anything else in the same caliber.

Factory Norma 143's  are 2500 fps and my reloads are 2700 fps with the 135 Berger behind 55gr of h4831sc.  

Mind you it's an 18" barrel and round count is right at 100 but I doubt she's gonna get a whole lot faster.

That's interesting. My wife's and daughter's tikka rifles are pretty much exactly the same as both of my bergaras. In fact, I use the same dope for all of them. Factory ammo and reloads.

The one I cut to 20" is running 140gn Sierra Gamechangers at 2875 with 58 grains of N565 after a little over 100 rounds through it.

Wow, that’s even slower than a CM. Lol. My 24” barrel is pushing 140g Berger VLD hunters at 3,056fps. I’d like to keep lightening my gear but I guess I’ll stick with a 24” barrel. 🤣. Can you go down to the 125’s or 127’s or is the twist rate not there for it?

Maybe a slower powder would yield some more velocity. I know the barrel is short, but I bet with some powder tweaking you could get those numbers pumped up.
