Tonto, Coconino, Apache-Sitgreaves, Prescott NF Fire Restrictions

Recommended Posts

You misinterpreted my question. I had someone tell me that the FS could enforce the fire restriction on private property. I disagreed with them.

That's all

Lock down the whole state until we get some rain.  Hopefully no dipsticks start the state off this weekend.

This would be great!  Unfortunately, USFS (I asked the Coconino NF fire folks I know) responds to as many as 30+ abandoned campfires almost daily during stage 1 and stage 2 restrictions, as well as during complete forest closures.

They need to play a few stories on the news about how big the fines are and jail time if you start one

I drove up to Heber from the valley today, passed two signs regarding the stage 1 shutdown, yet I guarantee I could drive the Black Canyon rd tomorrow and count a half dozen plus campfires.  People’s sense of entitlement is amazing.  Anytime I tell people, they say” oh, we didn’t know”, if I mention the signage, they never saw them.   Scary.  These people breed.

Not a fan of punishing the 99% of us that don't start Fires because of 1%er dipshhits.

I meant regarding fire restrictions on all public lands, which appears to be  happening. Not barring access . I think as many fires  start from vehicles issues  as  from campers these days. CA fire is case in point.
