Coues 'n' Sheep

A great Northern AZ buck

Recommended Posts

Well I had the pleasure of getting to help a fellow CW.com'er harvest his largest rifle Coues deer to date! I'll keep it short in hopes that he will fill in the blanks. In the 2 1/2 days I hunted with Gary we saw 48 deer. Gary Passed this buck at 350-550 yds (for 20+ minutes) on Saturday and shot him at 625 yds on Monday, but not before the buck had broken 2+ inches of bone off his right beam. A special thanks to my buddy, Bittner, for coming out and sharing the day of hunting and the harvest of the really nice N. AZ deer. Congrats to Gary on a Fine buck and thanks for having me along!

What were you chasing if you pass THAT deer? Great buck!

There is always a bigger one over the next rise ;) .... 45 deer later... he was still the biggest we had seen. As I told Gary... "10 out 10 hunters would not pass a deer with that much character."

great buck!! 625 yards is a long shot. what caliber /loading??

Well the only reason I hunted with Gary is because he shot the "Only" caliber.... 300 WBY Mag!!! ;) I'll let him fill in his ammo and equipment info....

Not a bad way to burn a northern AZ coues tag.

Very nice.
