red river trip over 4th of July

our tradionally trip to Red River over 4th of July..our boys caught hefty fish at private pond where my parents stay at a nice rental cabin (Rio Colorado Cabins) we stayed at river ranch rv park where I caught few nice 17" fish with fly rod and moquite / rengade flies behind the camp...cant wait to go back again!

Still waiting for Jason to take me fishing up north...I guess i'm going to have to hire Vini to take me...

I don't want to pirate Vinny's thread, but if you feel like hauling your boat up to Abiquiu, I can direct you to some walleye. I don't do much silver carp fishing ;) .

Them are some big trout but not as big as the smiles on the kid's faces. Thanks for sharing. :)

Looks like a good time was had by all. Red River is my favorite vacation spot-my wife and I used to go every year. We especially liked the stream fishing around Red River-Castilla Creek, Comanche creek, and Red River among others. Brings back some nice memories. The smiles on your boys faces are something you can treasure for a life time. It's great to see you getting them out and introducing them to the outdoors a an early age. :rolleyes:
