Check out Theron optics... i was in the market for a light weight spotting scope and was looking into the Nomad .. i ended up getting a Theron Styker.... if your ever down in tucson and wanna look threw it let me know.. i just got mine and havent had too much time behind it yet but that will change on friday...

I love my Nomad. Of course its nothing close to the much more expensive spotting scopes out there, but i think it was worth every penny. In my opinion it is by far the best in its price range.

Look into the Nikon Prostaff. You can get the 20-48x65 for about $300 online and the 20-60x82 is around $480-$500. Between my friend and I we have them both and they are definitely a great bang for the buck. Comparing them to the Vortex Skyline and a Leupold Gold Ring I would have to say that the Nikon takes home the gold.
