biglakejake Report post Posted October 15, 2013 One of the most visible AZGFD employees in the white mountains is in the hospital. Richard has been the creel survey guy out of pinetop for years had a health episode at the wheel of his truck last week and crashed-was flown out to the valley. he walked the lakeshores 5 days a week with that clipboard talking to anglers and giving great advice. out on the lakes in 60mph spring winds doing gillnetting surveys when not a single human could be seen anywhere except him and his volunteer partners. and then finding him trolling for walleye at midnight when we passed noiselessly in our boats. sure hope he is back out on the lake with that clipboard next spring. lee Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

biglakejake Report post Posted October 15, 2013 PINETOP-LAKESIDE — Richard Dryer, an Arizona Game and Fish fisheries biologist for more than 30 years, is now at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix following a heart attack that caused him to lose control of the Game and Fish truck he was driving on Oct. 2. Dryer was southbound on state Route 260 when he suffered the heart attack, ending up on the west side of the highway in dense trees and brush near Camp Grace. Navajo County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) deputies Connor Francis and Don Griffith are credited with saving his life when they performed chest compressions on Dryer at the scene, before he was taken to Summit Healthcare. “They were at the right place at the right time with the needed training,” NCSO Chief Deputy Jim Molesa said.
