Need Help with choosing .243 or 7mm-08 Remington/Savage or Ruger???

Recommended Posts

guns last a long time. get a good one. fit matters where recoil is concerned. i would get a youth 243 either a vanguard or rem 700. the tikka is a great gun too. does he have an elk or deer tag???

No Tag yet but hoping he will get one next year. I hope I have a year of practicing with the rifle before the real deal...

Very cool! hey im 42yrs old 6'2" 260# and if I had to choose 1 rifle to own it would be 1 of my rem 700 243's.

It is so awesome to see the kids faces light up! enjoy I know I sure do while doing range time with my kiddos.

I'm saving for a large mag rifle, recoil is not an issue for me. My trusty 06 is still trusty but bein that its so old and heavily used my first gun it the .243. It'll hit paper at 1000 yards and animals at 4-500. I'm good with that and know the gun well enough to be confident with my shots. The 06 is good to 800 but with its age and wear I keep it as a back up now, everything and everybody needs to retire at some point in life.
