Ouch!! I had a caliper release come apart as I was drawing through peak weight on my Mathews... So I punched myself in the face with the 70lbs of force I was drawing back at the peak of the cycle... arrow went careening off into the woods and bow stayed intact... luckily. Glad it wasn't on video....

I will always use a biscuit. ALWAYS.

How do you guys "flex" your arrows? Is there some magic amount to bend them?

Just kind of lightly bend them I do like an Indian burn technique to check for cracked or damaged arrows.I guess most guys mess their arrows up by missing the target.

I have seen several pics of guys doing this. Most have been from overdraw situations. I really don't know how the last pic happened unless he really didn't like the guy. OUCH!!!!!

Ouch. I also wonder how you're supposed to check your arrows. Anyone?

I flex my arrows at every location of the feathers. So usually 3 times and then a twist. if I hear any cracking or creaking I flex them a bit more till I can be sure its not the glue on the feathers. you do not need to bend them in half just a bit of a flex. just listen for those cracking sounds. and do it every time you pull an arrow from the target. they can slap each other when they hit and that can be enough to cause a fracture to start.
