CJ Long range Report post Posted January 14, 2016 Well I haven't tested it yet but I made a brake for my 300 win mag the other day. Great job! Let us know when you are able to test it out. Thanks! I'm hoping to get out this week. I have the 300wm to test a 308 with a brake I just made and a custom 260 I just finished in the shop this morning.
CJ Long range Report post Posted January 14, 2016 That's the 260 with a vias brake and a X-caliber 6.5 1:8 twist barrel that was turned down from a unturned blank.
CJ Long range Report post Posted January 15, 2016 Tested the 300 win mag brake. Extremely manageable. The 260 worked well too

Kingzero Report post Posted February 16, 2016 I have a Tikka T3 Superlite in 7mag and had Phoenix Custom Rifles install a Badger Thruster brake.....best thing ever! It recoils like my old 260 and if I pay attention to form I can spot hits at 300 yards on steel. I know steel and flesh are different, and in the heat of the moment you may not be able to confirm a hit at distance on an animal but it will help you get back on target faster. If you want to read some cool and interesting info on brakes then check out these links. I know most of these brakes are geared towards tactical competition rigs, but some can be used on the smaller contour barrels of hunting rifles. For anyone on the fence, I would look strongly at the American Precision Arms lineup of brakes. http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/08/21/muzzle-brake-summary-of-field-test-results/ http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/08/12/muzzle-brake-blast-ground-signature/ http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/07/25/muzzle-brakes-ability-to-stay-on-target/ http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/08/07/muzzle-brakes-sound-test/
Swivelhead Report post Posted February 16, 2016 Are supressors still a class 3 item? Did game & fish legalize them for hunting?
Kingzero Report post Posted February 16, 2016 Are supressors still a class 3 item? Did game & fish legalize them for hunting? They are still an NFA regulated item. Game and Fish legalized hunting with suppressors a couple years ago.
DesertBull Report post Posted February 16, 2016 Does a gunsmith have to take your barrel off the action to thread it and install a break?
carpcody Report post Posted February 16, 2016 Does a gunsmith have to take your barrel off the action to thread it and install a break? I was wondering this too. Also I would like to put a badger thruster break on my new 7mm. I don't like the look of breaks that are real bulky on the barrel. I have just the stock barrel( not a bull barrel). Would a gun smith be able to turn it so that it matches the barrel more? Or does it take a bull barrel to do that?

You can turn them down as much as like, but the more you turn it down, the more you minimize the effectiveness of the brake.
