No, really - when are they dropping?

Recommended Posts

Please PM me if you can help me out. I really don't expect answers posted on the www

If a certain person was planning a day trip to go walk a few miles around the mogollon rim (no ATV access area) the weekend of April 1st would they have a good chance of finding some fresh browns? I've checked and the road to get to my area is open. I'm probably only going to get one trip in this spring so I want to make it worth it.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Based on what I've learned I am going to postpone my trip until mid-May when the temps warm up.

got to remember we had a bit of snow - so most likely elk were on the move towards winter ranges this yr .

winter range areas are available on elk data info at G&F

also remember they will like /use the sunny edges of canyons/ ravines / mtns off the rim areas for travel as well as bedding

if you can best guess where winter beds are - that'll be the most productive antler drop areas along with winter travel routes
