Looking to have Hard Start Kit Installed on AC Unit

The furnace would have a separate capacitor for the motor. Replace that capacitor and see if you are still having issues. A hard start has nothing to do with a furnace normally.

Do you have a Rooftop AC unit with gas or a separate furnace. Older homes had an upright furnace usually mounted off the hall and the return is in the bottom as is the fan.

I have seen them caked with dust to the point where they barley run. Not to hard to pull the fan and motor out to clean if your the least bit handy with tools.

Mines a roof mount with furnace in the closet. It's fairly clean and has filters. Think it's just time.
