That's right.  Next road up.  I couldn't remember which road it was on.  Been on both several times.  Was it originally a sign for a cattle operation?

i have photograph framed on my wall with my parents standing in front of this circa 1950.  i had always thought it was in Williams on rt66.

It's only a mile up the forest road from the old Grand Canyon airport, and just a couple miles south of Tusayan. so I think it was a ticket kiosk for the Park?

Perhaps.  checked the back of the photo.  "Floyd and LaVonne Easter Sunday '55"

they always went to sunrise services at the GC no matter the weather.

ps only mom called him Floyd-he went by Clarence.
