I was wondering if anyone on here has hunted brown/grizzly bears in Alaska. I would like to start looking to different options. Alaska G&F is about as easy to navigate as ours so I was wondering if anyone has any tips or personal experience they would like to share? I have heard there is a draw & over the counter etc tags and would love to hear someones advice or expertise. Or maybe who to contact to get started planning a trip? Thanks in advance for any takers. I am with you on that one. My dream hunt is a Grizzly/Moose combo. Hopefully I will get that chance.

Just picked up my bear skull today. The rough score is 21 inches even, (2 & 10/16") off the world record! I attached a couple of pics. The 3rd pic is my skull compared to a smaller one in the taxidermy office. The taxidermist says it shows the age and character. It's my first bear so I would not have known the difference but perhaps some of you can appreciate. This ol' boy had cracked teeth and a deformed skull, my guess is he was happy to give up the ghost. Any official measures out there want to take a measurement?

I could not have said it better myself- about the addiction. I am looking forward to bear season more than I am elk season now. I just bought a foxpro and hope I can lure another one in next year. What do you normally use as your call, you seem to have some great success kidso. If you don't mind me asking of course.

They estimate it at around 18yrs old but said I'll get the official results around march of next year. He was on his last leg though....he had very little fat on him and I shot him end of oct. he was likely surviving on grubs

I have put in a lot of time with the shwackers and really like how they fly at 50-60 yards. They are $25 or so for a pack of 3. There are positives and negatives to every broadbead but I have been very impressed to say the least with my shwackers. Never once had an issue with flight, deployment and/or penetration.
