Head on a Swivel

The officers did a great job here. Most wackos that show up to do these things don't dress like an average teacher. So spotting them is usually easy. Resource officers usually wear a bright vest or something so they are easy to identify.

The staff in this school did a great job locking down, accounting for students and having a staffer waiting for help to give a situational report to arriving officers and a quick lay out of the building. Not everyone can or should be a hero with a gun. The training teachers are getting is great. But like said above, a veteran or 2 at every school would make a huge difference.

HOUSTON — A man in a wheelchair shot another man who tried to rob him in downtown Houston on Monday, according to investigators.

Houston police officials said it happened just before 9 p.m. at the METRO station at Pierce and Main streets.

Authorities said the victim was in a wheelchair when a man approached him and tried to steal a bag. The victim pulled out a gun and fired several shots.

The suspect was hit but managed to run "several hundred yards," according to police. Then, he collapsed. First responders took the man to an area hospital, where he was treated for the gunshot wounds and was stable, according to police.

Investigators said the man in the wheelchair was a veteran who was waiting to catch a ride to go home.

they should definitely allow CCW permit-holding teachers to carry at school. Absolutely no reason why a card-carrying person cant or shouldn't be able to defend their classes from these nutjobs instead of waiting for the police to do it for them.
