Looking for cow hay

Recommended Posts

Our little family ranch is looking to find a source for cow hay. Doesn’t have to be available right now. We would be looking at between 250-500 bales. Found some on facebook but would rather deal with CWT members. Looking to pay $5 or less a bale. Thank you in advance

I've got low grade alfalfa for $180 a ton currently, no mold, just went to full bloom and a little grass in the bales from end of last season. Might be tricky to find at your $5 price point.

At 5 dollars a bale . Your lucky to get bailed tumbleweeds. Or pure moldy hay. Cheapest I can find it is 12.50 a bail. And getting someone to commit to regularly delivering it,or even having it available is a nightmare. I have been trying to get a semi a week delivered, with 70 percent alfalfa and 30 percent burmuda  3 wire Bails. And get all kinds of promises. But every week I have to call several different people to get a truck load. And I'm paying a average of 12.50 to 14.00 a bail. And selling for 17.00 a bail.

At approximately 20 bales a ton . That works out to 9 dollars a bail. That's a pretty good deal for cow hay that's not moldy. And you can feed it to your other livestock.

Heck I might be hitting you up 👍

Feel free to PM me. Happy to sell to whoever needs it, and have approximately 3 squeezes left. We have a scale on site for weights, but you have to hand load your own, (no squeeze here unfortunately).

Ouch! That's work. Hard enough taking down off of a trailer, but lifting it up....wow!

Dad has been hand loading and delivering about 150 bales . Every day or two of either alfalfa or burmuda. Selling both at 17 a bail .

He's gotten healthy enough to throw a 3 wire bail over his head like it's a 10 pound bag of potatoes.. 63 years old now and does 250 sit ups every morning and 100 push ups without stopping. I can't do twenty and I'm 30.

100 pushups is about 75 more than most people can do. Last time I did 50 was when I was 49 in 2001.
