300 RUM Load Data With 210 Berger VLDs

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some load data for my Sendero 300 RUM. I plan to start with 210 grain VLDs and Retumbo powder. Does anyone have the Berger minimum and maximum load data for the bullet and powder?

Thanks

92 grns retumbo, 215 m primers, Remington factory brass, set bullet to magazine.

High is 97grns low 89 grns...... always start looking for pressure signs as you increase your powder.

Around 92grns is a sweet spot for the Remington's

Thank you both. I think I will start at around 91 grns and work my way up from there. Have any of you found they group better at 200 yards versus 100? That has been my experience with some other calibers.

I can't shoot straight enough to tell much of a difference at 100 vs 200....I know I shot less than 1/4 inch groups occasionally at both distances...

I have better groups at 300 yds vs 100 yds. I would at least go 200.

1/2" for me at 300 yds, I have better luck at this range

I was researching it and found this great video by Berger that helps to explain why some bullets may group better at longer distances.

They emailed this to me a 3 years ago.

210 grain berger VLD (Retumbo)

85.5 grains (start) 2,844 fps--- to 92 grains (max) --- approximate max velocity is 3,035 fps with a 99.2 fill ratio.

Wht_mtnman- what velocities are you getting with your Schneider?

I'm getting 3,050 fps with 86 grains of H1000.

I'm getting 3075 with 90 gr in a 29+ barrel

Interesting. I loaded up 25 rounds with 210 Bergers this weekend in the following weights:

5 rounds - 91 grns Retumbo

5 rounds - 91.5 grns Retumbo

5 rounds - 92 grns Retumbo

5 rounds - 92.5 grns Retumbo

5 rounds - 93 grns Retumbo

You all have me wondering if I went to high on the powder? Thoughts?
