willhunt4coues Report post Posted September 23, 2014 My buddy has one and I set his up for him. I am not impressed with them at all. You might as well get the 1600 without the ballistics if you are going to get a Leica. The ballistics only get close and show in clicks which is half a$$ IMO. If you want a rangefinder that has precision calculations look at the G7BR2 from gunworks. That is the one I have it will do ballistics out to 1400 yards and range out past 2000. When I was looking for a long range my price range was 1200.00 but then i seen how many people did not like their 1600B and was then looking at the 1600. After LOTS of research I found the G7BR2 and it was WHAT I NEEDED AND WANTED so I saved the money and bought it. I am VERY happy with it and just finnaly changed the battery after having her for about a year now. One of the BEST investments i have ever made.
Big Browns Report post Posted September 23, 2014 The 1600 ranging capability is Amazing! It's ballistic capability is not. Your better off using it as a range finder and using a ballistic app for the rest. The BEST range finder is the G7. It will do everything you want. BMart Report post Posted September 24, 2014 I have one. Ended up with it through a warranty deal with a Leica 900 or I would have never paid that much. If it was only $400 I wouldn't bash it the way I do but It's not worth $800. The angle feature sucks if you are a bowhunter, I have a seperate rangefinder for archery. The ballistic program on the B model isn't impressive. It will range anything and everything inside of 2000 yards but I don't think that one feature is worth it's price. I would suggest 2 things. If you want the ballistic software get the G7, if you just want to range a long way get something like the bushnell 1600.
