Hunter4Life09 Report post Posted June 20, 2015 Just out of curiosity how many people use wall anchors when hanging a mount, do you use them if your drilling into a wall stud?
Ghosthunter Report post Posted June 20, 2015 I wouldn't trust my shoulder mounts to a drywall anchor. You don't need a drywall anchor if going into a stud. Not sure how you would even get a drywall anchor to work in a stud?
rossislider Report post Posted June 20, 2015 I use a big 3 inch lag bolt into the stud for my bull. No need anything more. I'd never go into the drywall alone.

mattys281 Report post Posted June 21, 2015 My 4x4 muley fell off the wall twice due to using a wall anchor. The first incident i incorrectly blamed on the cat, but kitty was long gone when it happened the second time. It doesnt feel that heavy, but unless you want to come home to find your hard won trophy onthe ground, use the biggest screw that will fit in your mount and stick it on a stud! Trust me.
