What would you do

Personally I would go with the Savage and not think twice. Put the $400 savings into the scope.

I agree. It was a jagged pill to swallow for me. Glad i did though. Still beats a weatherby though

They do seem kind of "cheap" but for whatever reason, they really shoot well. Most bang for your buck IMHO

 

fair review. the tikkas feel like a toy also.

I have 4 Remington's three 700's in 300 win 308 and 223 and a 660 in 308 they are all capable of shooting under 1 MOA and the 300 and 308 700's under a 1/2 MOA or better ( all depends on the shooter) So I would say go with a Remington because I am biased. That being said I have never owned a Savage but shot one a few times and it shot great. I have been told by a lot of shooters that they are very accurate and they swear by them, but there is something about the style I just can't warm up too.
