Is a ladder test a waste at 200 yards?

Recommended Posts

I struggle to find a good place to shoot at 3-5 hundred yards. Seems like I'm always running into people

And I only have 15's. For glass. Makes for a lot of walking to check target.

Thought I would try a ladder at Ben Avery but hate to waste bullets if a ladder at 200 what really show any nodes

At 200 yards a ladder test may be difficult to interpret. Table Mesa east of I17 after you reach forest land There are several turn offs that dead end and leave you alone with a long streach of canyon to shoot into. Just don't show up at 10 am and expect to find a good spot.

The time spent walking ensures you never heat up your barrel.

Everybody says don't do it. I was at the range on some other loads but went ahead and did my ladder test at 200 yards. Everything shot within a 3" group. It was really hard to interpret what the bullets where doing. Stick with a longer range

Good stuff. Thanks. Think I'll head of table mesa or maybe up to Dugas turn off. Try to get out butt crack and avoid the wind up there
