i put in for a late archery tag most years. while i don't kill very often, (it's hard to do that time of year), i did see 11 bulls last year on my hunt. i just couldn't quite connect the dots.

In some of the limited opportunity hunts, I have seen hundreds of elk. I shot at and missed the largest bull I have ever had in my crosshairs. (100 yards broadside in the open).

Living close to the limited opp. Areas is a bonus. I have had amazing hunts and disappointments. The experience I have gained hunting those units is priceless. Now I could draw a better tag I could put that experience to use.

It sounds like this thread is talking about what the regs call "Nonpermit-tag required" hunts. Theres OTC hunts are very different from the actual "Limited Opportunity" hunts that are all draw hunts that can be very good hunting if you find where the elk are hanging that year.
