#799495 >>AR-15 chambered in 25 WSSM

Posted by azhuntnut on June 21 2018 - 11:32 AM

I have an Olympic Arms Target Match upper chambered in 25 wssm. This is an early model with the high quality 24 inch stainless ultra match bull barrel. I have shot it less than 30 times. The lower is an American Spirit Arms out of Scottsdale Az. It has a collapsible stock and I will include scope mounts and the LOC JAW tripod mount. This rifle will shoot an 85 grain bullet at about 3500 fps. I own a 243 wssm that I have shot about everything with it except antelope and elk. It will drop coyotes with one shot easily over 400 yards.
Its been in my safe for years and looks unfired. Let me know if you have questions. $1250- David

Located in NW Peoria.

I wasnt able to upload all the pics. I have more if needed I could email.

#774715 Whats up with this pigs feet????

Posted by azhuntnut on February 02 2018 - 09:44 PM

I have actually shot a bunch of pigs and deer with this same type of feet. We also thought is was because of the soft soil in the area, but later spoke to a G&F biologist that said the animals were eating a diet that was higher in protein than their body could process properly and caused the excess growth of the feet. I have seen dew claws on a pig that does a complete 360 and cannot run since the feet were so long. The area I was in had tons of alfalfa that was very high in proteins.
The deer usually had over an inch thick slab of fat all down their back and hide quarters and would reach 200-250 pounds easily and have feet 4 inches long. David

#761959 Chassis build finished .260

Posted by azhuntnut on November 24 2017 - 09:34 PM

I recently completed a build with my son for his upcoming deer hunt. We used an older model (pre accutrigger) Savage model 10 Tactical chambered in Rem .260 with a 24 inch bull barrel that I bought from one of our members. It already had a nice trigger job done to it. We painted it with a dark grey and then put a light layer of burnt bronze on top in a squared pattern. I have never tried a tactical handle before, so this is a new one for us.
The chassis is made by MDT and accepts AICS mags. We also used a stock form MDT that is fully adjustable. Together they only weigh about 3 pounds. Its mounted on the tripod using our LOC JAW mount. We loaded up some Berger 130 grain Hybrids and will give them a try Sunday morning. We are both happy they way it turned out and cant wait to use it on his December hunt. David

#759120 Anybody try RL26 in .260

Posted by azhuntnut on November 08 2017 - 01:18 PM

I called Berger and they told me 45g got them 2702 and max load was 48.8g with 2970 fps. They were all loaded 2.80 and the max load was at 106% full. My max coal is 2.90 so I shouldnt have an issue with a compressed load. I have some 130 Berger and 143 Hornady ELD-Xs. David

#749912 Thieves among us.

I think its the vagrants that are living around the forest. I have been seeing more and more each year hunting around the Flagstaff area and they are there for weeks at a time and the forest service does nothing about it unless you call them. They have ruined an area that used to be amazing for elk, now in the last two weekends I havent heard or seen an elk in the area. My trailer is out in the forest now, but I dont leave anything of value in it while im gone. Heck, I will probably get a ticket for leaving it out, while they pass 10 vagrant camps on the way in. I don't think it's to bad. I found this recoil chart online. Based on a 7.5lb rifle, the recoil is 13.8lbs using a 120 grain bullet. This rifle will be a little heavier with scope, so I imagine it would be less. I was gonna put a muzzle brake on it, but never found the time. David

I bought this a couple years ago new from a guy who never shot it. This rifle was built for a short time when the employees of Winchester bought the company and wanted to build quality rifles. I have only shot it about 20. I will include a new bag of 25 wssm brass, and some 115 grain bullets to get you started. I can also pass along some great info on how to reload for the wssm. I have 4 of them, so I have gotten good at reloading these calibers. I am also including an Aristotle Engineering Rifle Railz tripod mount with the rifle. No scope included in the sale unless buyer wants to pay extra. I have included a Winchester link with the rifle specs and a review. You can load light bullets or heavier 115s in this caliber. It shoots an 90 grain bullet at almost 3500 fps. I don't have the time to reload so many rifles, so I'm selling a few. $800 for everything. David

I have ordered several from here and the machining and quality are very good. A buddy of mine showed his gunsmith a few and he started using them for his customers. If I remember correctly they were less than $50 a piece. David

I have included a pic of the specs on the bow. Includes everything that comes I the box. $900 cash, and I can also accept PayPal. I would also trade for a rifle chambered in 6.5/.260 valued in the 1k range or add cash for lesser valued rifle. David
