Boohogs Report post Posted May 19 Has anyone been to Carnero lately? I’ve been to it a few times but have never actually fished it. Do you need a kayak or can you fish from the bank? I’ve never been around the backside so wasn’t sure of you can get away from the weeds far enough to cast. I appreciate it!
Couzer Report post Posted May 19 Just thinking about Canero when I pulled this picture up today from last year. The back side is deeper with less weeds.
Redman Report post Posted May 19 drove by it 2 weekends ago, it had more water than I have seen in a long time, but a lot of weeds, probably hard to fish from bank
AZ Free Man Report post Posted May 19 Kayak would be ideal, usually between the lake weed and wind, shore fishing can be difficult. We have had some success a few times from the shore though. Last few times I have been there it was nearly dry.

Roosevelt Mark Report post Posted May 20 Depending on water level g and f usually does early trout stockings but they grow fast. Take the kayak for sure.

vertigodrumdonut Report post Posted May 30 You can definitely fish from the bank, especially if you find a good spot away from the weeds. A kayak would give you more access, but it's not a must. The backside can be a bit tricky, but worth exploring.
