Suppressors, NFA, and the BBB ?

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, we got hood winked by the republicans.......again. They get one opportunity to get this done and they didn't deliver, I truly believe they never intended to. There compromise was to eliminate the $200 fee for the tax stamp. I hope everyone of them get there a@$# handed to them in the primaries just to prove a point especially Thune and Vance, both Rino POS, could've bypassed the liberal parliamentarian but didn't. But illegals get to keep free Medicare. WTF???

Andrew Clyde just submitted an amendment to the bill trying to re-add the removal of both SBRS and suppressors.

Bill passed and all we got is basically a $200 NFA coupon. Which wasn’t the main problem to begin with. How lame . Wickedly huge blown opportunity to put it mildly. GOA and others already filing law suits.

I know that we all want the HPA to pass, but I have to say that cramming a bunch of crap into big bloated bills that have nothing to do with the subject at hand is one of the biggest problems in Washington. And I hate it when the libs abuse it just because they can.

The HPA didn’t have anything to do with budget reconciliation, so it will have to stand on its own two feet.

Well I don’t disagree with you but because it was a $200 tax stamp and had to do with taxation which the Supreme Court ruled it is a tax, they were using this to eliminate a tax that does concern budgeting. With the now elimination of the $200, the claim is NFA is now subject to be overturned as it is no longer a tax. Maybe there’s still hope

So was the $200 fee eliminated?

Yes, and GOA is filing a law suit to remove the registry, as soon as its signed into law.

They are inter linked and the tax provision has been removed from the NFA so now its just a registry which is illegal and unconstitutional.

Isn't buying a gun from a ffl a registry?

Only if you don’t have a CCW. With a CCW in a lot of states including AZ the only trail of the transaction is on paper and stays with the FFL.

This is one of the items the ATF is working internally now. They changed the paperwork to have personal info on the front page  the theory was it was so they could film or phot that during inspection which is illegal but that’s the theory. They are now possibly working to move it back to the middle to be safe.

Not supposed to be, but we know how that’s gone. Registry’s are as unconstitutional as it gets, but let’s face it, they know what we have for the most part. It sucks that organizations like GOA have to exist to fight this in court. Of course this wouldn’t have to be fought in court if our representatives actually represented us.

True, but having sold guns for over 5 years of my life, I can tell you I was part of a few ATF investigations.  They literally figure out where the gun was sold and then come and get the info of the purchaser.  Now that most places are digital, I would assume it's even easier now.

Thats why I only use paper, stored in cardboard box next to the fireplace.
