6AYoteHunter Report post Posted Sunday at 06:51 AM Summer of 2020 really messed up central AZ. Small game ran out and saw one deer herd go from 28 to 3 in 45 days from just about every predator (including homeless people) killing off deer. Other smaller herds had no survivors. I killed a bunch of coyotes that year. Would have been even worse if guys weren't dropping every coyote we could find. Forest service didn't help things when they dug out multiple water hole dikes and cut water lines to the Quail Ulimited tanks all over Prescott National Forest years prior. Water was already lacking. Then throw in drought and not much survives.
millerpe1327 Report post Posted Sunday at 08:28 PM 16 hours ago, Shawn said: I think you hit the nail on the head with that Drought but pretty sure it was 2020. I think we're feeling that big time right now. I know the areas I hunted in 2020 I did not see a single fawn. Even up here in rim country 21 was dry although not to what 20 was. I didnt see good fawn crops up here til late summer of 22. Obviously it varies across the state. Regardless our droughts didn’t help and we are missing age classes out there and drought is what I think is the biggest factor for it

CWpredator Report post Posted Sunday at 10:12 PM Whitetail hunting was good for us down south. One booner and a smaller but nice representation 85ish for my senior mother. We’re in the middle of 3 Bull elk tags between late archery and 2 late rifle. Then my wife’s late December whitetail hunt. I’ll give an update after new years but the deer hunting has been standard as normal. Grind hard,… and kill good bucks.
