DUG Report post Posted Sunday at 09:18 PM My son and I are both Non-Resident. We are applying for the AZ elk draw together. He has a Lifetime License. I don't have one. ( I know, I effed up). Regs say the 10% Non-Resident cap won't apply to him. So what happens with me? Will I fall under the 10% NR cap, even though we are on the same app? I'm not too worried about it, just more curious than anything. I thought I also remembered seeing G&F screwed up and forgot to put some Non-Res lifetime license holders in the non 10% cap draw or I guess you could call it the Resident pool? MogollonMan Report post Posted Sunday at 09:22 PM If you apply on the same app, you will both fall under the non-resident cap. You would be handicapping him severely by putting in on the same application.
yotebuster Report post Posted Sunday at 09:31 PM Like Mogollon said, you will hose him by putting in with him, not only from the fact that you drag him into the NR pool, but also keep in mind there’s a lot of tags for NR where only one is available so you will both be out if you are lucky enough to be drawn.

Hunting is hard to do. You have to know someone or be in the in crowd. Weather can be rough but March to Nov is pretty nice. Hoping to move to TN or Western Ky in the next 2 years. Hopefully get something with acreage I can hunt. I'm also right in the middle of Bourbon country and barely drink. Haha!

I grew up there and toy with the idea of moving back...agree on the hunting lots of private so it definitely helps to know someone with land or access.
DUG Report post Posted yesterday at 08:07 PM I'm a few miles south of Frankfort between Louisville and Lexington. We are looking around Clarksville area and SW KY. We want to get closer to both our daughters and our new Granddaughter. One is in Clarksville and the other is in Arkansas near Jonesboro. Trying to take a couple hours off the 6 1/2 hour drive there. Where were you at when you lived here?
twistzz Report post Posted 5 hours ago I'm seriously thinking about north east Tennessee hopefully on a lake. You can get two deer and two turkeys every year along with the other critters. And big fish! Will see how it plays out. Good luck on the next move!

I've been dove hunting here 3 times and fired 2 shots. Really miss the AZ dove and quail hunting. We shoot some sporting clays and 5-stand every now and then and have done a couple of pheasant tower shoots and have hunted planted birds. Sportsman license here gets you 3 does and a buck, turkey, varmints and fishing. I've shot one 8-point buck so far.
