Zeiss Binos $200

Recommended Posts

For Sale – $200

I purchased these in November from a CW member, knowing the lenses would need to be polished or replaced after looking at them. I paid $400 with the intention of sending them to Zeiss for service. What I didn’t realize at the time was that they had been dropped hard.
Zeiss quoted approximately $400 for the lenses, plus an additional $600–$700 to repair the damage from the drop.
Rather than invest that much into them, I’m putting them back up for sale. Zeiss did offer me a discount toward new binoculars ranging from $900–$1,900 (from the Conquest to the Victory line), so these may help someone leverage that discount if you’re interested in new Zeiss binos.
If you’d like to take a look at them and see if you can make it work, I’m willing to let you check them out and we can figure something out afterward.

Service for scratched lenses. Worlds apart from all the other crap they need.

And the original seller has refused to refund his money. So, i stand by my statement.

You have insider info? Nothing in his post states what you do regarding  a refused refund….so stand away..

No pissing match here, guys — this one’s on me, 100%.
When I spoke with Zeiss, I specifically asked if the damage could have happened during shipping. The guy I talked to said absolutely not — he explained that they had been dropped previously and even pointed out where the impact occurred. It’s hard to see in the pictures, but based on what Zeiss told me, it must have been a pretty substantial hit. The shiny metal you see is just normal wear.
I did request a refund because of the significant drop damage, but Casey is correct — the seller declined the refund.

Yep.

See above. Seller sold broken binos, and refused refund.
