Got Drawn for 23 Bull In Late November

Recommended Posts

I have no idea how we were lucky to get drawn for Bull in Late November but here we are, my son and I both got drawn. His first ever big game hunt.

We have been drawn before but due to life getting in the way, we had to give up our hunts. I am not doing that this year.

So, if anyone has any tips or suggestions for places to start looking, that would be highly appreciated. I have a few pins for deer from some members on here, so we will probably start there.

I have a 2WD tundra and a quad to get around.

Good luck this year everyone.

Weather  is usually  the biggest issue on the late hunts. Rain or snow can limit where your truck can go .The quad will be useful to get around.  The elk will have been  heavily pressured  by then. On x or Google earth will  get you started.  There's good spots around  Christopher mtn and colcord  rd.

There are bulls literally from the top of the unit to the bottom. The best thing you can do is spend as much time as you can in the unit. Not so much to find specific bulls as they will move quit a bit in the few weeks before the hunt.  But to learn the country and roads.  I doubt that you will get any spots from anyone on here but look at OnX and google earth and find the nastiest canyons with water somewhere around and start there. Good luck.  I will be up there helping a friend with a tag.

thanks for the suggestions. Just found out a buddy of mine hunted cow elk there about 15 months ago. He wasn't able to get one due to the active fires at the time, but he has a lot of info he's going to share with me.

The best place to start is the AZGFD website and read through the Where to Hunt section for that unit.

yep... I downloaded the map and started researching the roads and geography. Thanks!

23A isn’t a real hunt. Do you mean 24A or 23?

Who buys a 2wd Tundra???

I did...because it's what I could afford at the time. If you're just here to bust my balls, F*$k right off.
