Coues Deer Distribution Across AZ....

Recommended Posts

Happened to notice this as I was paging down through the regulations (page 26).   The light color is the supposed distribution of whitetail in the state.  Something tells me they need to update their map! ;)

Hard to believe Coues used to be considered Carp Deer -- so available that you could pick up 2nd tags even in December.  "Less" hunters (sure!) and coues are expanding their area.  Not sure I can believe what azgfd is selling.  You can't even expect to get drawn every year!

I remember those leftover December tags. I wish I was a better hunter back then. Less people for sure, not to mention no quads or SxSs.

I knew two hunters that used binos back then to "glass". We're talking late 80's early 90's. One had Doctors the other used Swarovski. No fancy scopes as a long shot was 300-400 yards.

Quads and SXS are the bain of civilization.
