Has anyone created a checklise of what to take on a Coues trip? I can't remember how many times I was going to create one in Illinois and just put it off. (I remember even one time on archery opener that I had to drive back home to get my license.) There are so many different things that I never thought of out here in the west. Next question, how does one secure a rifle to the pack?

Here's a checklist that I used on a coues hunt a couple of years ago. I have lists for most of my hunts. I'm kind of anal about NOT forgetting anything! ;) I can't figure out a good way to post it here. It is in Excel right now. Send me a PM with an e-mail address and I'll send it to you!!

Checklists are not necessary. A hunt is not really interesting unless you forget something that you really, really, need.!

I forgot my binos last friday(23rd) on my white tail hunt. so i just had to walk. ended up pushing out a mountain lion...if he woulda stopped for one second he woulda been toast.

The one bullet is incase you cant kill your game with the knife, so you can put yourself out of your misery?

I think this would be a good thread to pin for all to see. Doug has a great list. Many could benefit from this thread.

Thanks to everyone for the lists. This is exactly what I need. I just want to make sure that I don't forget anything, like the kitchen sink.

You will forget something we all do I have been hunting Coues for about 12 years and there always something.

like someone said before its not fun unless something is forgotten, like lets say boots or gun or wrong tripod head. Sorry just bring back some of the great memories when hunting with friends and family bcs there is always one person that you can count on to forget something its like a seen for the movie deer hunter. the list goes on and on but at the same times there are times were I am certain that we all over packed extra this extra that.   <_< :( :P
