I have been hunting duck in AZ for 3 years now, and just curious to see if any of you outdoorsmen hunt ducks here too?

I haven't in years but was up to 24B with my Daughter today

on a WT hunt and heard a lot of shots from Roosevelt which had

to be Duck hunters.

Bunch of Quail hunters in the area but you could tell when it

was a big 10Ga from the lake.

Nice looking birds there bullwidgeon.

Bet that made a fine meal ;)

Or snack if you had Lark over

Do most of mine in the southern part of the state.. The Rudd knoll area wasn't to bad up north this year.. Got a few decoy's from a member on this site that I plan on using this year around Eloy. It's been pretty difficult down south the last past few years. Ponds look good in mid summer with plenty of food but come hunting season the water level has dropped significantly, giving them no reason to hang around. Was real good several years back and I can't wait for those days again. Maybe this year? :) Peace

Good luck all!

Bullwidgeon, nice geese! Were you on a public land by chance, or a pay to hunt place?

I know Mr. smith! Where did they go? I use to limit out within an hour of shooting hours 5 years ago. Every year since it seems there are more and more people where I go. Eventhough it is still early and hot out, I remember seeing/shooting more ducks in years prior! I hunt five different spots in in AZ, without making a weekend trip out of it.

If there are any serious duck hunters out there, I would love to chat with them...PM me. Maybe we can talk spreads and calling technics specific for AZ.
