The REAL reason for Border violence

Recommended Posts

I was reading an article on fox news and the Mexican border states mayors and governors had a conference and they have solved the reason behind the increased Mexican border violence!!! Its because the US Border Patrol has deported thousands of violent crime committing illegals back to Mexico!! Can you believe the idiocy that prevails down there. Holy crap!!! If they dont want em back, they should just shoot them when they get there, obviously the trend in those who commit violent crimes is to do it again. Just plant em when they get back and there they have solved their problem. Of course for some reason it is always easier to blame the US because your country sucks instead of really trying to fix it!! Kind of like the false report about all the guns in Mexico illegally coming from the US. what a joke. ag

I heard Arnie took away the free pass on college tuition too.

Also hearing about boaters on a texas lake that borders mexico being shot and killed, pirated, terrorized and held up by mexicans.

The US says, American boaters should stay away from the mexican line in the lake if they value thier lives.

What the heck is this about? We are Legal residents so WHY should we have to worry about criminals on our waters.

Why won't our country protect us?

I say, it's about time the US puts out some Bait boats like they do with cars for car thieves.

Shoot and kill some of these pirate perpetrators and things will change.

If they were Somali pirates, the Navy Seals would have turned them into chum.

Why Americans still patronize Mexico with our tourism dollars boggles my mind.

The fed's should make it illegal for a U.S citizen to travel into Mexico. I bet the Mexican government would think up ways to start helping the situation in a a hurry, when they are losing billions in revenue.

The tourist dollars are not the issue. It's the drug $ on this side of the border.

The body of a United States citizen has not been recovered after he was attacked by Mexican drug cartel pirates on Falcon Lake.

David and Tiffany Hartley were riding jet skis in the lake on the Texas-Mexico border Thursday, September 30, 2010 about 2:45 p.m. when pirates on at least two boats advanced and started shooting guns at them.

Mrs. Hartley said her husband had been shot in the head and fell in the water indicated Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez.

According to Gonzalez the couple was returning from the Mexico side of the lake after sightseeing and taking photos of the well-known remains of Old Guerrero.

Tiffany Hartley at first turned around to help pull her husband out of the water, but the gunmen opened fire on her and she had to speed away.

This killing was the first among many known attacks from Mexico drug cartel gunmen on Falcon Lake this year.

The pirates aggressively chased Mrs. Hartley into the U.S. waters and continued shooting. Texas public safety officials said the cartel members are known to use AK-47s or AR-15s on their victims.

Last month they used a local fisherman's boat to tape the misspelled term word "Game Wardin" on the side to get closer to potential victims.

The couple, from McAllen, Texas, was planning to move back to their home state of Colorado later this month, according to the sheriff.

“Obama doesn’t think we need much help on the Texas border, but he will send the military into Somali to deal with pirates,” said Eddie Ortiz, of Rio Grande City. “heck, this in our country with our own citizens—wake up America!”

If the billions we spend over there every year on tourism dried up, maybe their Gov't would step up efforts to police their own land.

I dont mean to be unsympathetic - but if you seek thrills in areas known for danger, violence, lawlessness and drug traffic - then CRY WOLF when some offense occurs - my feeling is you got the THRILLS you came for. Until our troops are sent with a clear "kick-butt" mission objective to protect our borders... I dont think our tax-payer dollars should be spent to undo STUPID situations - any more than we should commit resources or risk lives for idiots who cross flooded rivers with cars or rescue morons who want to hike mountains along the border of Iran, N Korea or Pakistan??? Stupid is as stupid does!

I hear what your saying and I agree with you to a certain extent but if you follow your logic then anyone who hunts in the low part of this state is "stupid."

South of Tucson is no Disneyland 36c is a war zone. But its not going to stop me from hunting down there. if I have to live in fear in my country then the founding fathers fail and what they sacrifice was for nothing.

Arent there people on this very site who claim how safe Mexico is and how safe they feel going down there?

My wife and I leave Sun. a.m. for our annual 2-week stay at our time shares in Mazatlan, Sinaloa. We will be driving as usual, with an overnight stay in Navajoa where we also enjoy a hearty shrimp chipolte dinner at the Del Rio. Will report if we get killed while we're down there. ;)

In the meantime, we still avoid driving in Maryvale (west Phx) and south Phx at night without a police escort.

To clarify - I have sympathy and outrage for Mrs. Kranz, the rancher who lost her husband there along the border. I also would be thrilled if my taxes were spent in their defense. But that is their home - and was their home long b4 this drug war became such a blood bath. No where in my earlier post did I intend to imply sportsmen on the border are stupid. But you must agree that you are taking a greater risk than similar hunters in units away from the border.

So having advanced knowledge of the dangers inherent in the area - then acting surprised or outraged when something bad happens as a result of being there wont move me in the same way as Mrs Kranz widowed and likely displaced from the land she and her late husband poured their souls into.

On the contrary, to jet ski on a lake KNOWN for piracy and violence... even cruising across onto the MX side as if to say "NEE-NER, NEE-NER", then dricry "FOUL!" because some Frito Bandito earned his marksman's stripes using your thrill-seeking, perhaps even taunting melon for a target. Thats different.

I havent been exposed to the beauty or the bounty of lower hunting units, but thems who have tell me it is worth the risk. I wont be competing there for tags or critters - until such time as our goverment makes a greater effort to secure the border.

To you and others down there, stay safe and good hunting!
