This weekend while elk hunting my dad got lucky and found a big bear. He made a good shot on him at 275 yards. They didn't score on an elk, but the bear makes up for it. This one is going to be close to the 21" mark. The hide measured 7' 5" from tip of nose to tail. I will let my brother fill you in on the details.

I'd bet he weighed between 400 and 500 pounds. I didn't get to be on that hunt, as I was helping my uncle get an elk. My brother will probably post on here and give you his estimation on the weight. The hide weighed about 90 pounds alone, so he was quite a bit bigger than that. I will post some elk pics in a new thread.

It is a 7mm Rem Mag case on the paw.

That is a nice Bear. 90lbs on the hide?

He has to be in the 400+lb range.

Is that his first bear? Hope not cause it will be tough to beat!

congratulations :D :D :D

I have never seen a bear in the wild but that boy looks HUGE!

That round looks like a .223 if it wasn't for the belt on it!

I shot one years ago that is in the Arizona book and scores 20 10/16. This bear appears to be at least as big as mine. But I am guessing he will make 21. Do not make the same mistake I made and boil the heck out of his skull. The Guy that measured mine said I shrunk the skull. Check with ASU . I hear they have meat eating beetles.
