Dall sheep scouting Y2K11

Recommended Posts

Well since 2009, I have been watching a 7 or 8 year old ram grow. He was of decent size but had no character. Now that he is 9 or 10 (9 for sure but I think 10) he is broomed on one side and has several chips on the top of his horns. He also has scars on his face. I think after watching him grow for a couple of years and shape into an old warlord that I am going to pull the trigger this year. I did't get any pictures of him or his full curl buddy. They were to close to me and I could not afford to make the extra movement and ruccus. On that note, yesterday morning my camp was invaded by several ewes and lambs. This time I got some pictures.

Are you having to fly in, or do you have access by wheeler?

There is no where to land a plane within nearly 10 miles of this area. I used to have to wheeler in and hike 7 air miles. Now I have a route that gets me within 2 walking miles but it entails a fair amount of steep side hilling which is hard on the feet and one steep nasty drainage with one tight spot that could hurt you if you slipped. Regardless, it takes alot less time and effort to go that 2 walking miles than hike 7 air miles (9+ walking miles according to Google Earth).
